New: NPR's Diane Rehm Show transcripts will be free

Communicators who want to study up on--or retain a record of--NPR's The Diane Rehm Show will be happy to learn that producing station WAMU has announced that transcripts of the shows will now be available for free--and they'll be searchable through a variety of services, including Factiva and Lexis-Nexis.  (For example, here's the transcript of a show on stem-cell research this week. Links for transcripts appear just above the headline of a story on the site.)

The new policy goes into effect for shows airing on or after August 25, 2010, and applies to other local news shows produced by the station.
